The Symposium Innovative Solutions for Lipedema & Lymphedema Virtual Symposium 2021 was a tremendous success! All three days were packed full of information, inspiration, and compassion. We were blessed with beautiful moving poetry written and read by one of our very own TRIBE members and one of our facilitators. We kept our bodies moving and our lymph flowing during our bio breaks with stretches, simple belly dance moves, and even the Hokey Pokey!
Global Coaches Collaborative
We were introduced to several of the coaches in our new Global Coaches Collaborative. We learned how the coaches have all decided to come to us because they have a deep desire to bring healing and support to the lipedema community. We are honored that they are extending their practices to be involved with us. We look forward to highlighting them in our projects and CSIGs going forward.
Laughter is the best medicine
We spent hours learning about laughter yoga. None of us will forget what we learned about laughter being the best medicine. The backstage panelists were invited to participate in a Laughter Yoga experience with the founder of this marvelous healing practice, and the giggles, guffaws, belly laughs, and snorts had us rolling on the floor. (Figuratively speaking, of course.)
WHY
Our patient panelists blew us away with their vulnerability as they shared their life journeys. They gave us inspiration by showing us how low they were and how their determination and devotion to their “WHY” gave them the courage to continue. We even had one patient panelist so determined to show us his truth that he came LIVE to us from his hospital bed. He is currently fighting an infection in the hospital.
What attendees had to say
Our attendees were bright shining lights throughout the entire weekend. They were highly engaged, asked brilliant questions, shared their own wisdom and struggles, and reached out to each other to offer support and make connections. As one attendee said, “This Symposium is so very intimate and full of compassion.” Wow! Where do you get that type of spontaneous involvement other than here?
Anything is Possible with Lipedema!
Catherine and Leslyn were amazing hosts and were supported by the behind-the-scenes team that kept everything running smoothly. A huge thank you goes out to each and every one of the tech team who answered a myriad of support requests and kept us rolling along.
The tech team is now working overtime to get the whole weekend edited and set up so that you will be able to have access to the replays soon. These will remain available for six months.
We are so thankful that we were able to spend a fulfilling and well-rounded weekend! It is truly a reminder to us all that anything is possible with Lipedema!
