	CAV1 and Lipedema

- An article titled “The MMP14–caveolin axis and its potential relevance for lipoedema” published in the journal Nature Reviews Endocrinology in August 2020, by two medical research groups in Germany and Texas.
 - This study sought to discover a route cause of lipedema and may have found a potential mechanism.
 - This research suggests that the dysregulation of CAV1 protein and MMP14 enzyme could effectively explain the main known features of lipoedema.
