Estrogen as a Contributing Factor to the Development of Lipedema
- Today I’d like to tell you about a paper by a group of researchers in the US.
- The paper is called: *Estrogen as a Contributing Factor to the Development of Lipedema* and was published online and will be a chapter in an open-access peer-reviewed book.
- The purpose of this chapter was to review the current literature on the role of estrogen in the pathogenesis of the disease and look at potential hormonal therapy for lipedema patients.
- The authors conclude that as we learn more, it may be decided that lipedema is a hormonal disease and will respond to hormonal treatments.
