Unveiling the Unique Characteristics of Lipedema Fat
- Published in the Obesity Journal in 2019, the study titled “Dilated Blood and Lymphatic Microvessels, Angiogenesis, Increased Macrophages, and Adipocyte Hypertrophy in Lipedema Thigh Skin and Fat Tissue” by Sara AL-Ghadban and colleagues aimed to uncover the differences in lipedema fat.
- The findings suggest that, while there are similarities between obese fat and lipedema fat, there are significant differences that make lipedema fat unique.
- As research on lipedema advances, we gain better tools for diagnosing, treating, and potentially preventing this condition.
