Changes in hormones caused by the famine response
- Healthcare providers were taught to measure just thyroid-stimulating hormones TSH, instead of T3.
- TSH doesn’t change with decreased metabolism, but T3 does and stays down.
- Then you’ll have symptoms of low thyroid.
