The LipoDiet Pilot Study: Keto’s Role in Managing Lipedema Pain and Quality of Life
- Today’s episode discusses the research conducted by the Nutrition Department at the University of Oslo in Norway.
- The study, titled Effect of a Ketogenic Diet on Pain and Quality of Life in Patients with Lipedema: The LIPODIET Pilot Study, was published in the journal Obesity Science & Practice in December 2021.
- Dr. Siren Nymo, one of the study’s authors, presented these findings at our Ketogenic Solution for Lymphatic/Fat Disorders virtual symposium in November 2020.
- This research is particularly significant for women with lipedema, as it confirms the anecdotal evidence we’ve seen over the past five years: a ketogenic diet can lead to improvements in pain management and weight loss, especially when low-fat, low-calorie diets have failed.
