21st Century Lymphatics
- Today we discuss an article published in Cell Press in July of 2020 titled “The Lymphatic Vasculature in the 21st Century: Novel Functional Roles in Homeostasis and Disease.’ by Guillermo Oliver and Natasha Harvey.
- In this paper, the authors explore the role of lymphatics in health and disease.
- This is of interest to the lipedema community because this means that even with a wide range of variations in lipedema presentation, you can still pretty accurately diagnose lipedema.
- What we are learning about the lymphatic system can help with not only diagnosis of many human diseases and conditions like lipedema, but also may help us figure out how to treat or prevent them.
