Types of Lipedema
- Lipedema does not look exactly the same in each person.
- The 5 types of lipedema can be described as clothing.
- Type 1 looks like a woman is wearing a puffy baby’s diaper covering pants made of lipedema fat.
- Type 2 looks like bloomers to the knee or joggers.
- Type 3 looks like harem pants to the ankle.
- Type 4 only describes arms. It looks like mutton-chopped sleeves to the elbow, or like poet sleeves to the wrist.
- Type 5 looks like padded greaves, where calves are only affected.
- No matter what type, lipedema is not just fat, and needs special treatment.
